Frequently Asked Questions
DOES IT HURT?
Don't listen to what others tell you, ALL tattoos hurt. People's pain levels are different, we can't tell you how much a tattoo in a specific area will hurt you personally, but the pain lasts for a little bit and then you have a tattoo for a lifetime!
WHERE IS THE BEST PLACEment for my TATTOO?
We will let you know if a specific design won't work for the placement you want, but for the most part the best place to get a tattoo is where you want it. Many people have notions that certain spots hurt more than others and because of this put their tattoo in an alternate spot only to find out that it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be and then later regret not getting it where they originally wanted to put it. No matter the pain, your tattoo will only take a short while to do compared to the rest of your life. We urge you to get your tattoo where it will make you happy.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Cost is dependent on the design, size, color, drawing time / tattoo time, intricate details, and amount of equipment used. We're visual people, once we see the design in front of us we have a better idea of how much it would cost. Please contact/call to discuss your design and costs in further detail. We're always happy to work within a client's budget when possible.
CAN I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT OVER THE PHONE?
Yes! We can't always book you directly from the first phone call, but our receptionists can walk you through the steps to scheduling a time and artist that works best for you based on your and our availability.
DO YOU DO CUSTOM DRAWINGS?
Absolutely! We love drawing custom work for people. We do quick drawing consultations every day at 12pm and 12:30pm. Drawing consultations are a completely free service that we provide for clients interested in doing original work.
SOME COLOR FELL OUT OF MY TATTOO. DO YOU DO FREE TOUCH UPS?
Sometimes during the healing process some color may fall out of your tattoo or you may lose a line. Oftentimes this is a result of picking at the scab or the tattoo sticking to something during the initial healing process. Other times submerging the tattoo directly after getting it or exposing it to excessive direct sunlight or UV light can damage the quality of your tattoo. We do 1 free touch up within a year of getting your tattoo if needed. Please be aware that every artist has a specific touch up day. Touch ups MUST be scheduled with the tattoo artist you originally got the tattoo with. We often require that you come in to book the touch up, or send a recent photo of the tattoo, that way we know how long to book you for. Please do not wait until the last minute to book your touch up. If you come in 3 days before you're leaving the state forever we may not be able to accommodate your touch up in time.
CAN MY FRIEND COME WITH ME?
We always encourage moral support. If you bring more than one friend, be aware that space might be tight, some people may have to wait up front/take turns going back with you. If possible, we ask that young children stay home, or an adult stays up front with them for the tattoo to be finished.
DO YOU USE SINGLE USE NEEDLES/DO YOU HAVE AN AUTOCLAVE?
All of our needles are used once and only once on you and are then safely disposed of. All of our other equipment goes through an extensive sterilization process daily. We have 2 autoclaves which are tested monthly for your safety and ours.
DO YOU TATTOO HANDs/feet/HEADs/faces/INSIDE LIPS?
Yes, at our artists discretion. However we do not recommend it as these placements do not lend themselves to getting tattooed as well as other parts of the body. We may do it but we won't guarantee it, these placements are not included in the free touch up policy.
ARE THERE DESIGNS YOU WON'T DO?
The only tattoos we will not do are hate tattoos or gang tattoos. Some design concepts or placements may come in conflict with what an artist feels comfortable doing. We may not be supportive of tattooing the never-before-tattooed young person, freshly turned 18 who wants a huge tattoo on their throat. As always our artists have final say on what they feel comfortable doing for a design, and we will absolutely tell you if it is a design we don't recommend or do not feel comfortable doing.
I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION, CAN I GET A TATTOO?
Almost always, yes. We work on many clients with diabetes and other chronic illnesses. We do ask that you consult a physician before making the appointment, if you are unsure if your condition requires a doctor's note, feel free to ask us!
